Burberry 100% Cotton Trench Coats & Jackets for Men

The first trench coats date back to the mid 19th century, created by British clothing manufacturers Burberry and Aquascutum. Designed to be a lighter option than the heavy serge greatcoats for men of the time, trench coats were worn in the First World War by British and French soldiers in trench warfare. Made in England, Burberry 100% cotton trench coats and jackets for men are available in four fits, four lengths, and a great variety of colors.

What types of Burberry trench coats for men are available?

The four fits for these men's coats are classic, relaxed, slim, and tailored. The classic fit is tapered at the waist but there is still room to wear a suit jacket beneath it. The relaxed fit is meant for layering and is designed for those who intend to wear suit jackets and cardigans beneath. The slim fit is not intended for layering and other jackets or cardigans cannot be worn underneath. The final fit is their tailored fit which falls somewhere between the classic and slim fit.

The lengths of Burberry men's trench coats range from thumb to knee length. The short length extends just below a suit jacket worn beneath or thumb length. The extra long extends just below the knee with mid and long lengths falling in between those two parameters.

For colors, there is the classic beige but also offered are black, blue, brown, green, red, and yellow.

How do you maintain Burberry trench coats?

Burberry cotton or cotton blend coats are washable. You will want to ensure stains and dirt are removed first, using non-toxic, gentle cleaners depending on the stain's origin. In addition to treating any stains, also give attention to areas prone to dirt, such as cuffs, necklines, and underarm areas.

Many get results by turning their Burberry coats inside out and placing them in mesh bags to protect buckles and zippers during machine washing. If the lining is detachable, remove it and launder it separately.

Using cold water, a delicate cycle, and low spin, add an appropriate detergent and start your cycle. As opposed to leaving the coat in the machine, remove it immediately once its cycle is done. Place it on a hanger to dry and to minimize creases. Steaming it while damp will help produce solid, wrinkle-free results.

To keep your coat fresh in between washings, there are non-toxic freshening sprays and products that can be used to reduce odors.
