The Hooters chain of restaurants was founded in 1983, and today there are more than 400 locations all around the world. If you work for the company as a Hooters girl, you'll need to purchase the right shorts as part of your uniform. Hooters women's shorts are high-waisted short shorts designed as part of the required uniform for servers at the Hooters chain of restaurants.

Although the shorts come in orange to match the rest of the Hooter girls' uniform, shorts in other colors are also available depending on the location where you work and the occasion being recognized.

• Orange: The Hooters regular uniform consists of an orange pair of shorts paired with tan pantyhose, white socks, white shoes, a brown ticket pouch, and the Hooters tank top, featuring an orange owl logo and the location of the restaurant in orange. These shorts are available in either the nylon dolphin style or in the booty-short style.
• Black: Hooters shorts are available in an all-black variation of the uniform. These shorts are paired with a black tank top by the servers and feature the Hooters logo printed in orange. This variation is not worn at all locations.
• Camouflage: Hooters girls are also offered the option of wearing camouflage shorts for patriotic occasions. These may be paired with a white tank top that features either the owl logo or a variation that is also camouflage-colored.

These shorts come in a range of sizes: 3XS, 2XS, XS, S, M, and L. To find the right size, you'll need to measure your waist and hips. Measure your waist at the narrowest point, which is near the belly button, and measure your hips at the widest point. Make sure the measuring tape is in a straight line and parallel to the floor. Based on these measurements, use the Hooters size conversion chart to determine your size in women's pants and shorts. These shorts tend to run large, so if you're between sizes, choose the smaller one.

The dolphin-style orange shorts are made of nylon and should be machine washed with warm water and hung to air dry. You can decrease the static on these nylon shorts by using fabric softener as well. The booty-short style is made of polyester and lycra and should be washed in cold water and machine dried on low heat.
